Reading your interview gave me great insight of how a real artist thinks and the trials & tribulations that an artist struggles with on an everyday basis. It's enlightening to hear that an artist of your caliber also had a slow, painful lesson while learning how to draw. Most people would assume that a person with your innate artistic talents would not have to struggle at all and it would come naturally. The importance of learning to draw first can not be overstated, as you said. Too many want to start by painting without the basic drawing skills and how backwards is that? Also - as you mentioned - putting aside the time to practice art is what we need to do. Creativity sometimes needs to be "jump-started" and it doesn't always come at any particular time.
